Moved “Into” The New House And Qwest Problems
So we have officially moved! All of our we and all of our crap are now resident’s of Webster City. Our stuff is everywhere! We have boxes here and boxes there. What makes it worse is that this is the busiest week of Nicole’s year. She usually gets home around 10:30, so the moving in process is going very slowly. What has slowed it down even more is that we are trying to clean the walls and the carpet really well because the previous owner was a chain smoker and everything stinks. Having said that, the house is beautiful and is a huge step up from our last house. From my desk I have a clear view of the river and it is sweet. I’ll be adding pictures when we get it just a bit more settled.
Now I have just a little rant to go on… I debated for along time about what internet/phone/tv provider to go with at the new house. At first I was leaning toward Mediacom’s VIP pack for 89.99. When I looked up Qwest for the new house and it said I could get 7MB down speed. I also knew I could sign up at Best Buy and get a $150 gift card. I decided to go for that and get Dish because I really wanted a DVR and they provided one for free. I was going to wait a month or so for Dish just to let the finances settle down a bit. Well when we got to the new house I was surprised to find that I was only getting 3 meg speeds. I called Qwest and they told me that was the highest I could get in my area. Needless to say I was pissed. They said their wasn’t anything at all they could do. So I called up Mediacom to see if I could work some kind of deal out with me. They said they have a new deal starting in April for the same VIP pack for 69.99. I then told her the whole thing about Qwest and the DVR and she said she would wave the equipment fee for the DVR ($15/month). There still is an 8 dollar service fee for it, but I figured I could live with that. So, I will be a new Mediacom customer as of Monday the 2nd. (P.S. I will have 15 meg down/ 1 meg up.)
